Yesterday, I had the pleasure of getting up nice and early to have breakfast with Chanel at Toronto’s very own Coco Café, in celebration of the launch of Chanel’s new ROUGE COCO GLOSS! The cafe, which is running from March 1st to 26th, will be offering a variety of on-site activations from Chanel CHANCE “Juice Bar” fragrance consultations a Hydra Beauty “Bubble Bar” that will offer face or hand massages, a Lip Lollipop Bar, a Photo Station a Manicure Bar and Nail Photo Cam as well as Chanel Makeup Master Classes!!! Haute Couture is something of a phenomena for me.. I say this because a couple years back I had the pleasure of being a guest of Chanel and travelling to Paris to experience the Lesage & Lemarie couture ateliers where I really got to see, learn and feel the passion and artwork that goes behind creating couture pieces.. The endless hours of embroidery, the insanely precise attention to detail and of course the beautiful and untouchable work that ends up being produced..

CHANEL Spring Summer 2017 Haute Couture Collection Re-See New York Presentation

For Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2017 Haute Couture collection (that I am sure we ALL unapologetically glued our eyes to during Couture Week) Karl Lagerfeld ‘transposed the ambiance of 31, rue Cambon without copying every detail.’ Inspired by the very things that are iconic Chanel… One main part being the mirrors that reflect the grand staircase leading up to the CHANEL Haute Couture salons, makes this collection one of my favourite Chanel Haute Couture collections to date, and that is pretty monumental for me considering that Chanel’s Fall 2010 Haute Couture collection has not only been a favourite from the brand but has been one of if not my most favourite Haute Couture collection in GENERAL!! I loved the super metallic and slick vibes.. It was such a contrast of such futuristic elements but with classic silhouettes.. I loved how Gatsby from the future, everything felt!

This season Karl Lagerfeld maintained his mastery at blending fabrics to create such unique textiles for the garments… I saw a lace laminated in a sort of plastic intertwined into a jacket that you would never notice until you really looked and felt.. The extreme sequin tuxedo literally had me wishing I could find prince charming already and plan my fitting for my wedding look #YASSSSS!! There were so many overwhelming moments for me because YOU KNOW how much I love sparkle and shine when done so, so tastefully!! This was literally yet another dream-like-state-inducing-experience c/o of my friends at Chanel!!! See more pictures below and be whisked away to another reality with me.. Even just for a moment!! The Piece De Resistance ???? #STRUTwithCHANEL

These just might be two of my biggest obsessions right now!! Say hello to my little friends… THE EPIC Runway Chanel Shield sunglasses which I am literally swearing by.. Because.. If you know me.. Than you know how PICKY I am with sunglasses.. These definitely are a standout frame for me!!.. And then… of course… There is… The piece de resistance…. The iconic Chanel Film Projector Camera Handbag that literally gives me the same feeling of excitement in real life as when I saw it on the runway for the Paris / Rome collection.. I thought I would pay my best personal homage to this bag and collection by wearing a strong classic dark and chic look ~~read: my every day uniform~~ in spirit of the Paris / Rome collection and in celebration of yet another iconic bag from the house of Chanel! I can’t wait to share more of these amazing pieces with you!! I was going to do product shots first.. But I couldn’t resist.. I had to give the LEWKSSSSSSS!!!

Up Close & Personal With: Chanel ‘Cercle Prive’ Haute Couture Fall 2015 Collection

Every season, one of my highlights of flocking to New York Fashion Week, is the time I get to spend with my Chanel family at the seasonal Haute Couture appointment. Jump in the car uptown to the Chanel offices, ascend the model maintained elevator to the magic floor where dreams come true and there is nothing but Haute Couture filling up an entire room.. Then you blink twice and realize YAS, this is real (lol!).. This season like every other, I have had the pleasure of once again attending and getting my time with yet another exceptional beautiful and always crazily cool Haute Couture collection from Chanel.. This season, the collection as always had all the signature elements, the iconic jackets, suits, skirts & you know, that iconic Chanel look..

For this season, the collection was themed 3D… Fitting, after learning that pieces and elements from the collection were actually constructed using the 3D printing process to create shell like bodies for jackets and details for other looks… Another amazing element was (as we’ve seen in the past) the blend of elements, textures and textiles… Karl never ceases to amaze me when you really get to look up close at some of these clothes and realize just how much thought goes into everything… The aesthetic was a bit more military with more masculine shapes and silhouettes which obviously I was oohing and awwing over!!

Overall, as you can imagine it was another dream experience with the amazing team at Chanel! Thanks for having me again!! XoJay

My Haute Couture appintment with Chanel

While in New York, it is mandatory to accept the request of Chanel for their private Haute Couture appointments. There is really nothing like getting up close and personal with couture. The art that goes into couture, still to this day leaves my mind in awe. The nearly infinite hours, countless details – It really does make you look at clothes like art (if you didn’t yet). Art that not only looks beautiful but makes you feel beautiful. Every time I get to attend these Chanel appointments it not only brings me back to that magical trip and experience Chanel selected me to be a part of last year in Paris at their Métiers d’Art but it also rejuvenates my appreciation for fashion, the industry and the art that goes into it.. On that note, let’s reminisce.. Miss this video!

Reminiscing – Here is the video footage I captured from that magical trip & experience I was so lucky enough to be a part of with Chanel… So many great memories from a private fitting, to the shopping center show, all the way to the outsides of Paris to the private Haute Couture ateliers where all the magic happens!! Magic!
