Some of my favourite covers to date have come out of the BBC live lounge! This, my friends, aside from Miley Cyrus’ Summertime Sadness cover, might just take the cake as the most amazing thing to come out of that studio! Sam Smith & Disclosure, collaborated on a cover of Drake’s Hotline Bling and I’m literally an emotional wreck after listening to it for the 500th time.. IT’S SO GOOOOOD!!! CAN I LIVEEEE!!! I’m probably nearing the 500th time I’ve listened to this song since it came out a week and some days ago.. And then.. On top of it! He gone ahed and done sang it at OVO Fest which just nearly made me fall over and off my chair during the concert! This is my new anthem.. It’s like a romantic, island-vibey sing-a-long song that makes me occasionally think (about every 15th time I play it or so) If he wrote it about me!? LOLLLLLLL!!! Lyrics like ‘you, got a reputation for yourself now’ – ‘ever since I left the city YOU, started wearing less and going out more, glasses of champagne out on the dance floor, hanging with some girls I never seen before’.. it has to be for me like HELLO, DRIZZY!? I HEAR YOU BOO BOO! I HEAR YOU haha!! ANYWAYS… listen and enjoy! Prepare to be hooked!
I fall in love with songs all the time… I play them out for a couple days then eventually revert back to my my originals.. We Found Love, The Thrill, Paris, etc… Every once in a while I fall in love with a song that I know is going to be a keeper and put on my eternal life playlist.. Enter my new obsession by none other than the very talented and Canadian born DRAKE! This song is so chill but still energizing and seriously just took the spot for Summer/Fall song of the moment (I haven’t stopped playing it since I first heard it..Literally!).. When you know OVO Fest is coming around.. What do you do? You GO! You get tickets, however you may haha… And then you get ready for one of the most epic concerts you will probably ever go to!! I had never been to an OVO fest but obviously, being from Toronto, I knew of it’s legendary status! Bringing in some of the biggest names in the world all to show love to the city and you know, Drizzy Drake! I was lucky enough to be invited to OVO fest this year and am I seriously glad I was! This year had some of the most epic on stage moments I think I will ever come across…Untill, maybe the next OVO Fest! Drake lit up the stage along side Big Sean, French Montana, TLC YES TLC!!!, A$AP Rocky, P.Diddy, MA$E, J. Cole, Miguel, Lil Wayne, and Kanye West! It was a good day to be in Toronto to say the least!.. I had the pleasure of shooting the show from that little photographer pit right in front of the stage before the blockade blocks the crowd out so it’s safe to say I had a pretty good view of, uhm, everything!!! Here are just a few of the crazy moments I caught on camera for you guys!
