Backstage at the Louis Vuitton + Supreme Fall/Winter 2017 Menswear Show

I think one of the biggest surprises that hit the mens fashion week runways was definitely the collaboration between Louis Vuitton & Supreme! I think it quite literally broke the fashion industries & hype-beasts alike internet lol!!! It was in a fashion + street-lovers sense… SENSORY OVERLOAD!! Here are some exclusive behind the scenes images I got from the Louis Vuitton Press Release to share with you guys!

Behind The Seams; TOM* with M.A.C Cosmetics

If you know me then you know I have recently been having this growing obsession with MAKEUP! Everything about it from the application to the results just gets me going.. With that said I am sure you could only imagine just how excited I was to find out that M.A.C Cosmetics was going to be TOM* (Toronto Mens Fashion Week’s) official beauty & grooming sponsor for this season WHICH IS SO MAJOR!! I mean hello It’s M.A.C Cosmetics for friggin sakes!!! This season I had the pleasure of hanging out with the talented MAC Cosmetics team and M.A.C Cosmetics Senior Artist Jane McKay for some insight and inspiration from some of TOM*’s star designers.. Before we got into makeup I asked her what the direction/recurring theme may be for the collections and she explained that;

“The trend that I am seeing for men in 2016 is smooth, hydrated, great looking skin. Skincare is essential to protect and hydrate. Primers work to smooth the skin and minimize imperfections. Men are discovering what women have long known to be true, a small amount of makeup may correct and enhance without being visible to the naked eye.”

– Which I obviously loved, because that is what I STARTED wearing make-up for.. Now, yes, I am full tranny, pseudo drag queen extravaganza LOL!!!! BUT!!! I did indeed start because I had severe blemishes and wanted to hide them in a natural looking way… Anyways… Back to the shows…. Some of my favourite key looks for these masculine male models were the dramatic eyes in one show, to natural masculine glows in another to extreme futuristic and almost alien like high metallic shines finished off by what Jane showed me was the perfect icing on the cake, the M.A.C Prep plus Prime plus Fix, finishing spray! Another thing I noticed was there was no shortage of contour, which would be assumed to be a given but HELLO honey #YASSSS to cheek bones!!!! Overall, the M.A.C team really killed it this season and I can’t wait to see what they have in the future! See below for some of my favourite key looks.

Included below is a list of Jane’s must-have male grooming products to achieve this season’s men’s grooming trend. All of which are being used backstage this season at TOM*.

Behind The Scenes with En Noir

Between some shows and appointments during New York Fashion Week I went to go stop by the final fitting for the EN | NOIR Fall/Winter 2013 collection which was set to show only a couple days later (I actually even think it might of been the following day!!). This was serious crunch time for the everyone because they were about to show their clothes for the very first time presentaton/show style at Milk Studios, so it’s safe to say that it was super high energy during the fitting. It was awesome to see the styling procedure and the clothes really come to life. I clearly didn’t realize that the presentation would be as packed as it was, it was literally a mad house, people pushing and pushing to get in lol! So it was good to see the clothes more up close and personally. Continue reading for some more pics from the fitting…

Backstage at Prabal Gurung Fall/Winter 2013

Here are just a few exclusive photos I took from backstage at Prabal Gurung’s Fall/Winter 2013 runway show which just showed a few days ago during New York Fashion Week. It’s always such a thrill to be backstage, the fast pace movement, all the action, models, hair, make-up, final looks, etc! There was no shortage of any of this behind the curtains at Prabal’s show. It was also nice to see him surprisingly calm pre-show taking interviews and photos with press/etc… The collection was filled with some really strong and beautifully made pieces for Fall/Winter 2013. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the coats, especially the one above with the white fur.

Backstage @ Prabal Gurung S/S 2013

Prabal Gurung’s Spring/Summer 2013 RTW collection was beautiful. Light and airy but still so strong and bold. I loved all details, simple accents to gorgeous embroideries. i also love that I can now spot a Prabal Gurung girl anywhere, Prabal has built a signature aesthetic and each season reinvents and replenishes our imagination with his works.
