Last night here in Toronto I had the pleasure of attending the ‘CLUB YSL #YSLBeautyCrew‘ party which I have to say… Was such a blast!!!!!!!!! I was dying because I loved walking into the party and just seeing a sea of all black fashion…… SOOOO YSL😍😍!!!!!!!!! The party was filled wall to wall with so many people, lots of familiar faces and of course, enough champagne to keep everyone hydrated (tough life!!! LOL!)…. I actually had such a dope time turning it up with my friends but I have to say… more importantly FINALLY getting acquainted with YSL beauty products as (I’m ashamed to say) I have never used YSL beauty products before!!! It was my first time ever even trying them this night, and I only tried a couple!!! I actually ended up falling in love with a couple things :)… So obviously with that said I am super excited to get to know the brand a bit better and try some of these goodies and the VIP gift bag….. stay tuned 😉 xx
So everyone’s been waiting and here is your first look at the Yves Saint Laurent, film slated to come out some later next year 08/01/14. The movie is a look at the life of the French designer from the beginning of his career in 1958 when he met his lover and business partner, Pierre Bergé. I CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE THIS!
Kate Moss was spotted around London this past week with her Betty bag from Saint Laurent Paris…
Aside from the spectacular clothing (Kate, is also wearing a jacket by SL) the accessories division of the new Saint Laurent under creative direction of Monsieur Hedi Slimane are very, very attractive! I first noticed the jewelry, bracelets, etc and now am growing a strong admiration for the handbags, totes and etc. The Betty Bag is a simple single chain shoulder bag that is really chic and clean (but what would you expect from SL?).

If there is one celebrity I really ever post about it is, and probably always will be Lady GaGa, she always pushes the boundaries and makes statements wherever she goes. Lady GaGa was recently spotted in New York the other day in this really beautiful black leather Saint Laurent Paris motorcycle jacket ($4,950). I don’t know if you have had an opportunity to check out the newly renovated YSL.COM but their new pieces such as this jacket are so amazing, modern and SO EDGY, yet classic and such great additions to the collections and e-commerce. I have literally been dreaming for a jacket like this for quite some time! I love the details and cut! I can’t wait to see what Hedi does for his next collection this coming Paris Fashion Week!
Hedi Slimane, who, in the past designed for the YSL men’s collection, debuted his collection for Women’s Saint Laurent, R-T-W during Paris fashion week. To know that Betty Catroux, longtime muse to Yves himself, was “delirious with delight, proclaiming Slimane the savior for all womankind” is definitely a good sign and great way to introduce this collection and kick-off what I see as beautiful union between the designer and brand.
The Spring/Summer collection for the newly titled Saint Laurent features Slimane’s iconic rocker chic look with gothic meets American-Western Parisian it-girl suave (think MK & A-Olsen, at their best, in Paris, during fashion week, in everything Saint Laurent) with floor-sweeping, full-sleeve dresses, military inspired jackets and slim tapered trousers and skinny pants. Cleanly cut lines accompanied by luxe textures and lots of leathers played uniform to models who’s faces hid behind (next seasons definite it-accessory) wide-brimmed hats, a signature of the collections style. The hats weren’t the only accessory to talk about, the over-sized waist belts and gold necklaces and cuffs were all under deeply focused eyes.
Can we also talk about the dresses for a second? I’d have to say that Saint Laurent’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection has one of the most sexy yet glamorously made selection of black dresses that I have seen for the season. I loved all the variations and again, accessories that took pieces to entire other levels. The over-sized silhouettes played the perfect battle against the sheer parts of the garments as well as the sexy and bare-all exposed slits and cut-outs, all done tastefully and all coming together in great harmony. Bravo Monsieur Slimane!
I haven`t really sashayed into the world of beauty, cosmetic and hair product on my blog so when Daniella asked me to join her for a YSL Fall 2012 Beauty launch OBVIOUSLY I wasn’t going to say no. There were chic little bites, perseco and champagne being served oh and the main treat one of YSL’s very own resident make-up artists of over 10+ years sharing his expertise! Anyways, I just got back home from a very enlightening and intimate experience with some of YSL’s new line-up of beauty products for fall. From what I gathered from some of the other editors that were at the soiree, this is really exciting and a great line of products. The face concealer (which I did indeed try) was actually very light and smooth, the lip color (which I didn’t try) is a very good pigment and lasting stick. The color range seemed to be very vast and perfect for a bunch of skin types! O.k. this is it, NEXT TIME YOU SEE ME, I’m going to have a new face!
O.k. let’s talk about the Yves Saint_laurent Arty Oval Ring for a second. I mean, you obviously know about it, have seen it on some of the coolest fingers in the biz and probably want one for yourself (if you aren’t already building a hand-full-literally!).. It’s such a cool piece and I have contemplated buying it a buzzilion times but the real question is… Would I really wear it? This, like many other pieces in the fashion world is slowly seeing price increases but, to compensate is bursting on to the scene with an array of color-combination’s. Hmm.. I do like it, maybe I’ll think about it during New York Fashion Week!… You can buy it now for $250USD on SSENSE in this wicked color bombo (above).. Let me know if you get it/how much you love it after so I can finally just cave in and stop thinking about it!
I know I hate smoking and I hate that I smoke but honestly… I can’t resist sharing this, how glamorous (as if it weren’t glamorized enough already).. Anyways, I’m about to call YSL in Bal Harbour to find out if these are available in stores. If they are I am going to definitely pick up a couple packs when I go.. Or wait, I’m in NY in a couple weeks so I’ll get them there!
