Roberto Cavalli Fall/Winter 2016-17 Menswear Show

In now the second season designing at Cavalli and first for the menswear line, Peter Dundas is on the path to creating a new identity for the cavalli man. ‘A wardrobe for the twenty first century dandy’ comprised of a mix of exotic furs and textures, animal prints & an abundane of orient and indian embroideries and accents. Having been a follower of the collection for quite some time now it’s fun to see the new spirit and direction of the brand. I love how cool and laid back everything seems. See some of my favorite looks here.

Hello, hello, hellooooo!!!!!! O.k. so if you follow me on social media, then you know that last week I had the pleasure of hosting and DJ’ing the exclusive launch and preview of the new Disaronno bottle design collaboration with Roberto Cavalli here in Toronto!! If you are familiar with the collaboration you’ll know that last year they did Versace and this year they did Roberto Cavalli!! Both my fashion families!!!! For the third year of Disaronno’s ICON project, the design drew inspiration from the Roberto Cavalli SS 2015 Pre Collection. The graphic animal print channels ‘enchanting undersea world and the most exotic safari locations…’ Another plus about this collaboration is that this partnership is also benefitting Disaronno’s ‘ICON’ project’s ongoing Charity Partner ‘Fashion 4 Development’ which is a great initiative sponsored by the United Nations… Honestly, I had sooo much fun being a part of this event and I am so happy that so many of my friends came out to play, kiki, dance and of course sip from the new Disaronno bottles!! I wore a fab just cavalli sweater that my Cavalli family in Milano sent over to me! But side note.. This must of been the first time I wore a crew neck sweater in public in months lol!! The highest neckline I have rocked in a while lol!!! Anyways!!! Continue reading and scroll down to see some of my favourite moments from the night!! XOJAY

Peter Dundas appointed Creative Director at Roberto Cavalli

PETER DUNDAS has been appointed as creative director at Roberto Cavalli. Dundas will assume the role immediately, vacating his position at the helm of Emilio Pucci. Rumours swirled late last year that Cavalli was set to relinquish his role as designer at his eponymous brand in favor of a shareholder role.

Dundas studied at Parsons in New York before moving to Paris, where he became an assistant to Jean Paul Gaultier in 1992. Eight years later, he moved to Christian Lacroix where he remained for two years before arriving at Cavalli. Three years spent in Florence, working under Cavalli, greatly influenced his future aesthetic – “The greatness of the city, which unfolds in the morning hours, is humbling and challenges me to make my mark. But it also provokes me, and permits a certain naughty, punk side of me to unfold” – which he honed in the subsequent decade as creative director of Emanuel Ungaro and then Emilio Pucci, where he arrived in 2008.

MENTHE x Le Chanel Trompe L’oeil Boy Bag

Bag – Chanel / Pants – Mugler / Boots – Dr. Martens / Coat – Just Cavalli

With Spring here but realistically not really ~I took it into my own hands to own the moment and channel some Spring vibes with a monochromatic mint-themed look. Naturally because this is out of my [all black everything] comfort zone I took it upon myself to balance the brightness with the military Just Cavalli coat that did the trick perfectly… ALSO.. Can we take a moment to pause and catch our breathe after being mesmerized by this Spring/Summer 2014 CHANEL Trompe L’oeil Boy Bag? Ain’t it just somethin’?.. It’s like other wordly ain’t it?? I am kinda obsessed to the point I have been practically sleeping with it… BUTT In further news please please please forgive me for the big lack of posting since getting back to Canada from Europe. As I always say/you can imagine the madness didn’t stop when I got back from travelling the last 3 months for men’s, haute-couture & women’s fashion weeks in America & Europe. Once I landed is was go go go as it was also Toronto Fashion Week here in the city and I was part of the very small team producing and executing the biggest, if not most important fashion show of the week. It was beyond anything I could of ever expected and really pushed me to all my limits, needless to say,I came, I saw, I twerked, I worked and long behold… I conquered and am really proud of everyone who was part of this journey, and I am pretty damn honored myself to of been able to be part of something so ground breaking in Toronto. Anyways I have some exciting and chic posts coming up in the next few days so stay tuned okay!? XOJAY
