I think one of the biggest surprises that hit the mens fashion week runways was definitely the collaboration between Louis Vuitton & Supreme! I think it quite literally broke the fashion industries & hype-beasts alike internet lol!!! It was in a fashion + street-lovers sense… SENSORY OVERLOAD!! Here are some exclusive behind the scenes images I got from the Louis Vuitton Press Release to share with you guys!
Exciting news! Louis Vuitton and leading humanitarian organization, UNICEF, have created a partnership to support the most vulnerable children around the world with an aim to raise funds for UNICEF to help support children that are exposed to conflict, diseases, natural disasters and other situations that threaten their safety and well-being. To initiate the collaboration and begin raising the funds, Louis Vuitton has created a specially designed silver lockit and bracelet that will be available in Louis Vuitton stores worldwide and of course, online at http://louisvuitton.com/lvforunicef – For each sale of the silver Lockit pendant or bracelet $200 will be donated to UNICEF. The Silver Lockit is inspired by Louis Vuitton signature ‘unpickable tumbler lock’ invented by Georges Vuitton in 1890 to ‘protect clients most precious belongings’ – in this case it also ‘seals one’s promise to help children in need’ which is just great. The campaign for this partnership features iconic and very high-profile celebrities making their [pinky] promise with Louis Vuitton, creative director Nicholas Ghesquiere, along side the pendant wrapped around their symbol of promise. See more photos of celebrities making their promise below.
In celebration of Maison Louis Vuitton’s 160 anniversary, the house enlisted creative visionaries Karl Lagerfeld, architect Frank Gehry, photographer/director Cindy Sherman, industrial designer Marc Newson, Christian Louboutin and Comme des Garçons founder Rei Kawakubo to reinterpret the iconic LV monogram with a collection of accessories with, evidently, no barriers.
In a new editorial shot by Lagerfeld himself for Harper’s Bazaar, the collection is shared and showcased featuring a few unexpected contemporary pieces, such as Kawakubo’s ripped tote as well as Lagerfeld’s punching bag, boxing situation (above) which is not so ironically mon favourite! These limited edition pieces will be available at select Louis Vuitton stores around the world beginning mid this Halloween month!
By far one of my favorite Louis Vuitton men’s collection’s to date. Every season Kim Jones has managed to make Louis Vuitton’s menswear that much more desirable and redefined. This season was no different, my eyes went right to the jackets, the parka’s and super dimensional shapes, details and materials I also was very intrigued by the accessories, did you see the suitcase backpacks? A highlight? Kim Jones’ introduction to subversive British artists, Iakovos “Jake” Chapman and Konstantinos “Dinos” Chapman, adorning the collection with their quirky designs.
I couldn’t help but share these Louis Vuitton wedges I came across the other day at the LV store here in the city. They are Spring/Summer 2012 and really need no introduction. Love how heavy-duty they are.. I think they were just under $1, 500.. If I rocked wedges these would be MUST-HAVES on my S/S12 list.. But since I don’t I got something else this day that I am quite satisfied with :):)..
WORD ON THE WEB is that LVMH’s chairman, Bernard Arnault is plucking super designer and my biological father DADDY!! Marc Jacobs from Louis Vuitton and sending him to Dior! SOMEONE CALL MY THERAPIST.. “And how does that make you feel?”.. Which means someone will need to fill LV..No? That money-machine can probably run it’s damn self but word is they want Celine’s Phoebe Philo to occupy that vacant spot like a trucker at a pit-stop after a 10 hour drive GA-HURLLLL…. NOW I think the $70,000,000 QUESTION IS.. who will take Celine? KANYE WEST?..
There is something special about the Mens S/S 2012 accessory collection for Louis Vuitton. Maybe it’s because this was Kim Jones’ first show under the label? Whatever it is I am totally digging it! This new collection includes a detail that right away swept my mind, the embossed monogram. That was a really convincing and very genius move! It keeps the luxury and look but making the detail more subtle then usual heavily monogram/print bags. I also love the red & blue checked scarves! I smell a new purchase coming. click here for more Louis Vuitton S/S 2012 Mens Accessories
Check out this awesome behind the scenes video from Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Spring/Summer 2011 runway show. This was Kim Jones’ first show for Louis Vuitton as creative director for menswear. I think Jones did an amazing job with this collection. There were so many aspects of this collection I loved. Aside obviously from the the super luxxe yachting feel of this collection, I loved the details. Those emobssed bags are to die for! Continue reading to watch the runway show
