Christian Dior has always been a Haute Couture staple for me. When you think of the name you instantly think of the magical and sometimes other worldly creations that John Galliano used to create for the house during his spectacle of runway shows. Now under the new direction of Raf Simons the house has taken a equally new direction which I unequivocally do not mind! There is a new, softer tone to the clothing, to the shows, to the ambiance of Christian Dior under Raf. Two totally different minds with two totally different perspectives, both which I equally appreciate.
“We wanted to show the softer side of Versace.” shared Donatella Versace, explaining the detachment from the normal, extremely fierce, severely sexy and always so strong Versace woman. Not to say this collection was anything short of those assets and elements but there was undeniably something different.. This season, the atelier put together a softer, flowier, more valley girl/coachella-queen/teenage-dream (but obviously still with a killer edge) collection full of soft details, floral appliqués and lace work and some sexy svelte silhouettes while some had a more free spirit and care-free attitude. Needless to say, the collection was another awe-inspiring couture moment for the house!! I totally remember my first couture show! It was Versace Atelier of course, so I know just how much fun and how beautiful the clothing really is! It’s such a spectacle to watch.
Bad Gal Riri, Rihanna, just dropped the full video for her summer anthem #BBHMM/Bitch Better Have My Money and #LAWDHAVEMERCY she done dropped the mic on all bad girl mentality music videos lol!! The video is so intense it might just frighten you a bit, or when you’re a little crazy like me, have you chanting screaming “YASSSSSS QUEEEEEEN” at various levels of your octave range… #NOTEtoSELF 1)Don’t mess with Rihanna & 2)You better have her money when she calls! LOL!
