Let’s be real! Facial and body hair is something a lot of us glamazons struggle with on the regular, and not everyone can be fortunate enough to get laser hair removal! So for everyone else, we turn to other methods like tweezing, shaving, waxing, and more.
This has been my dilemma – I’m always switching between a bunch of different techniques and can never commit to one that will #JUSTWORK! Some are great for convenience but don’t last long (sometimes my hair grows back within 24 hours!), while others are effective but time consuming (and #AintNobodyGotTimeForThat). Some hair removal methods even require you to hit up the spa or salon, but the idea of having to get ready and then trek back home afterwards does not make it worth it.
It’s taken me a while to figure this all out but I think I have finally found the perfect balance between all three! It’s the convenience of shaving, with the results of waxing all in one! Allow me to introduce you to the new SatinTouch Precision Epilator and Satinelle Prestige hair removal tools from Philips!
I have been using these two goodies for quite some time now – the SatinTouch for sensitive areas (like on my face) and the Satinelle Prestige on my body, primarily focusing on the legs and chest area. The results have been great and the convenience of the products themselves is amazing. The SatinTouch for the facial area is an accelerated version of tweezing with the smooth results of shaving, minus the extreme ripping and pulling pain of waxing! I have brought it to New York and Miami with me and it has been the best travel companion. While the Satinelle Prestige has been great for getting super smooth legs that last an entire trip, not having to constantly maintain my look throughout the week because of unwanted hair growth is such a relief! Especially since I’m always on the go! Now you may think I’m crazy because let’s be real, epilation isn’t exactly pain free, but it’s worth it for the results!
I normally like to perform the process early in the morning before the day starts, that way I have time to be precise with the hair removal process! And let’s face it… at the end of the day it’s still an epilator, so getting ready in the morning gives my skin the time it needs to heal, and when I apply make-up or any products to my skin, there will be no irritation! I have definitely learned that the key ingredient to success with the epilating process is to prep your skin with taking a nice shower (or bath!) and exfoliating prior to use! That way your pores are opened up and the extractions are that much easier! Pairing that with proper epilating technique equals amazing results, especially since both the devices firmly grab hair by the root!
I had such a crazy time at the Rihanna, Puma #FentyXPuma show in Paris during fashion week last week!! It was out of this world and I literally wanted every single piece of clothing that made its way down the runway… Here are some of my favourite highlights and moments I captured from my spot at the Rihanna Fenty show!!!!
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of getting up nice and early to have breakfast with Chanel at Toronto’s very own Coco Café, in celebration of the launch of Chanel’s new ROUGE COCO GLOSS! The cafe, which is running from March 1st to 26th, will be offering a variety of on-site activations from Chanel CHANCE “Juice Bar” fragrance consultations a Hydra Beauty “Bubble Bar” that will offer face or hand massages, a Lip Lollipop Bar, a Photo Station a Manicure Bar and Nail Photo Cam as well as Chanel Makeup Master Classes!!! Oh the holidays!!!! Not only the time of joy, Christmas lights, (a new favourite) mulled wine and whatever else may cometh as the days draw closer to jolly old Christmas…. BUT.. Also… That time of the year when it becomes so unbearably cold here in Canada that the sudden urge to book last minute and random flights to.. I don’t know.. Let’s say.. Miami!? It seems to happen much more frequently and aggressively than normal!! AND… It’s those days, like today where I look outside my window to a grey, cold sky knowing that only a couple hours and something minutes away is a beach, a margarita and an entire city waiting for me to just frolic it up lol!!! But it’s also SUPER annoying because I have a curse where I always book things like this last minute and end up paying wrecked premiums on flights that were half the price only some weeks before!!
This year, I feel slightly more inclined than ever to pursue my travel urges and just literally go with it.. Care to know why!?!?.. Well… I guess if you’ve read this far you clearly are going to find out haha!! This year, hesitation finds itself dissolving into thin air as I learn more and more about all the perks of being an American Express Cardmember!!! First and foremost definitely has to be the new Fixed Points Travel Program – This new program literally has FIXED point redemption rates so I do not have to worry about flying at peak times – WHICH basically means, I won’t have to worry about when I book!! I JUST GOTTA BOOK!!! AND if I am feeling fancy, I can even book Business class with this program which really means there are no borders to how free I can feel when I fly!!
Then the tricky part!!! Finding the perfect place to rest my head come nightfall and planning SO LAST MINUTE!! I am so picky when it comes to hotels when I travel. They need to be chic, clean, pose an opportunity for a good instagram backdrop for a big ol’ chunk of my content and be somewhat economical!! AND THEN the annoying thing is trying to book reso’s at my favorite hot spots in Miami especially during a busy time like Art Basel!!
That all being said, I definitely think it’s time for me to stop the yammering and look into booking considering I only actually got a couple weeks left!! Thankfully with this new program I can even book flights with a fixed point redemption rate over the holidays, so no worrying about fare hikes! Luckily for me, I get to do this with reliability, consistency and ease of use this time around and you can too!! Visit [this link] to learn more about the Fixed Points Travel program for yourself!! Happy and safe travelling this holiday season!!! Xo

I really just have been going with the flow and trying out whatever I got however I think works and this look is no exception!! I used blush as eyeshadow on the eye-lid and under the lower lash-line!!.. I layer my lipsticks… I use bronzer as contour with a kabuki brush!! I just literally… GO with it!!! That being said, I am excited to continue to learn more and more about how to use different products, brushes and what brands really excel for what!! This past Art Basel, Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer and President of the LVMH Watch Division, announced the appointment of super cool American artist Alec Monopoly as Art Provocateur for the brand… That being said… One thing I am exciting about post-Art-Basel-2016 is that when I get back to Miami in a couple weeks for holidays there is going to be this super iconic 50 foot wall tag by Alec Monopoly at the Mondrian Miami a.k.a the hotel y’all know (if you’ve been following) my family (cousins/aunts/uncles/parents/etc.) all have been staying at the last 10 or so years since it’s opened!!! IT’s been a couple months now since I got my iPhone 7+ and after now really utilizing it and it basically becoming an extension of me, I am confident and ready to share a couple of favourite things about it! First impressions obviously had me at Hello… The overall aesthetic of the Jet Black were very captivating.. It’s a sexy, sleek and seamless shell with a very alluring darkness to it.. I was torn between the matte black and the jet black but then JUST fell in love with the jet black when I saw it!!!
Of course, I went with the + size, because since going + I have never gone back and I also learnt that the + camera’s have better low light sensitivity which basically translates to better night time Instagram and Snapchat posts!!! Another plus of the overall build of the new device is the new sense of speed I feel while using the device.. Flipping between apps and windows has never been more seamless… Then there is battery life and that storage… Apple is REALLY putting me to the test with all 256 of the gigabytes that are available in the new iPhone’s, I really want to time how long I could go before using all the space (probably NEVER LOL!!).. No but in all honesty.. For someone who is one their phone 24/7 having THAT MUCH SPACE really brings a sense of relief because I don’t feel like I will ever have to be traumatized by the “STORAGE FULL” pop-up ever again (or at least for a very long long time!!!)
iPhone’s 3D touch Peak & Pop feature works seamlessly on new 7 devices
WITHOUT A DOUBT… One of my favourite features of the new iPhone 7+ but mainly a feature of the update (that of course is most easily compatible with the most up to date mainframe) has to be the new intelligence of the photo album… Being able to see memories from different places around the world and/or with certain people you are most photographed with are such a treat.. THE ICING ON THE CAKE!?!??! Being able to get as specific as to search specific cities, specific things like “jackets” “boots” etc.. It’s kinda freaky but freaky in all the right ways!
There are so many other fabulous features that are to be detailed and of course still to be discovered!! So of course, please stay tuned as I share more as I learn 🙂 XOJAY
Apple does it yet again! Off the highlight of last-night’s Drake debut for his Apple Music commercial, Apple shares a heartwarming and I say, always needed reminder to ‘Open your heart to everyone’ especially during the Holiday season!! Apple reimagines the modern day Frankenstien who just wants to get in on the holiday action, using his device to share one of his favourite holiday carols.. OMG SO CUTE I CAN’T!!!! Enjoyyyy & happy holiday season!!!
Read a little about this year’s quick & easy Halloween make-up routine!
For Halloween this year I didn’t really do much because…. In all honesty, I had (in my opinion) the most epic costume two years ago and have not been able to top it since so I pretty much feel defeated every year due to the lack of inspiration or idea that could possibly top Michelle Pfeiffer as Cat Woman… That being said, I was on the cusp of LITERALLY not even putting a layer of anything scary on for this years festivities.. BUT.. of course, I couldn’t allow myself to hit that much of a low so I used whatever I had in my drawers and put some faces together, for the Halloween weekend look, I did a more of a cat inspired make up.. On Halloween night I made my attempt at doing a somewhat/kinda pretty glam ghoul skeleton inspired look and quite actually ended up really liking how it turned out.. I ended up using nothing but 2 shades of, Urban Decay’s Naked Palette 3 Eyeshadow, 1 of the colours on the NYX Strobe Of Genius Highlighter Palette and a simple felt tip Guerlian Liquid Eyeliner for the entire face!!! It got the point across but still definitely maintained a pretty vibe which (I guess) made it doable for the night!…
