You know I love a good collaboration AND YOU KNOW I LOVE MY BALMAIN… So you can only imagine my excitement when I learned that Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, teamed up with Apple on a limited edition BALMAIN x BEATS headphone! I was SHOOK! “Our diverse army has no limit and crosses all boundaries, from culture tradition to modern fashion and music. Balmain and Beats – welcome to my new adventure” – said Olivier, Balmain’s creative director… Balmain has always created hype with anything he touches and it is no different hear (see what I did there!?!?!? lol)… The quite literally, designer earphones, are clean and simple with the perfect touch of signature Balmain shine!!! Enough typing! Time to plug them in and play SZA – CTRL at full control and jam out to my new favourite headphones!!! In the mean time learn more about the Balmain x Beats headphones and see the other styles online here !!!!
Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the launch event for the new collaboration between Microsoft Surface and GelaSkins at GelaSkins’ headquarters in Toronto’s west west end! It was a high-energy event filled with a bunch of creative people and good vibes!!! To launch Surface Studio in Canada, Microsoft Surface partnered with GelaSkins and six Canadian artists to create a new line of skins that were created on Surface for the Surface line of devices. The six designers, Candice Kaye, Sam Shuter, Lloyd “Tablloyd” Arbour, Soteeoh, Claire Desjardins and Darshie Designs were provided with a Surface device to design their art!! It was so cool to see what the artists came up with while at the event… Also another plus was during the event, one large-scale canvas print from each artist was available so that guests could bid on them to win during a silent auction…and the proceeds from the silent auction went to benefit SKETCH (a Toronto non-profit focused on youth arts)!! I personally got to try out one of the Surface Studio devices as the event and was floored when I used the DJay Pro software by Algoriddim and everything worked so smoothly on the touchscreen.. Another thing that really got me (I am so geeky for admitting this) but I literally was dying over the zero-gravity hinge that allows the device to move at the literal touch of a finger #OMGAWD lol!!! All in all, it was a fun evening with good people and cool tech 🙂 Here are some pictures I took and some from the photographer of the night! Enjoy Xx
So the last couple of months I have been fortunate enough to have been getting to use and wear the highly coveted Apple AirPods! I can’t lie.. I was super happy when I got them early because they were so coveted but I was actually a little hesitant because I know how much of a SPAS I am and that I literally lose so many things, especially with how hectic my life has been lately travel/work/etc.. I finally sucked it up and accepted that I may lose one or both but at least I got to experience them LOL!!… Now, again, I am going on a couple months and some weeks of wearing them (got them in January) and have to say I am actually really really happy about how things have gone! I have been wearing them through airports, through trains, to/from fashion shows and they actually have ended up being more convenient then the burden I assumed them to be.. Of course, I am a bit more aware but I have to say they stay in when I am on the treadmill, when I am running around the city, when I am basically doing anything.. Another plus is the battery life, they on their own can stand multiple episodes of me streaming my netflix and keeping up with the kardashians.. They keep going from boarding to landing on my flights to Miami and actually have been easy to use during phone calls/etc… I MUST ALSO SAY.. THIS IS NOT A PAID OR SPONSORED POST… I am actually sharing this because I think good things should be shared.. OH AND THE BIGGEST PLUS!?!? Never having to untangle wires again #HALELUYAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! On a side note.. I am also doing a collaboration with Browns Shoes & Puma and am helping give away a pair of tickets to see The Weeknd live in concert in Canada!! So if you have a few minutes go check out my recent instagram and enter for your chance to win!!! XOJAY

If you guys have been reading my blog and/or following me on social media for some time now then you know HOW MUCH of a little GEEK I am when it comes to technology! I have been and continue to be fortunate enough to work with some absolutely insanely amazing tech brands and when I get to see new products and technology it just gets me so excited!! As you can imagine.. When the wearable tech trend started becoming a ‘thing’ I was so excited because of how I have always loved combining fashion and technology…. A couple days ago I had the pleasure of attending Best Buy’s second annual Wearable Tech Expo and fashion show where tech pro’s and style mavens came together to showcase just how wearable, wearable tech really is. Stylist Afiya Francisco and wearable expert, Tom Emrich, did an exceptional job at pairing, sharing and showcasing just how simple and quite fluid it is to incorporate and integrate wearable technology into every day life & style choices… Learning that one of the most popular and most easily integrate-able pieces on the market right now is the smart watch made total sense. As time has progressed, they have been getting more and more stylish and personable.
In the middle of Yonge & Dundas square, BestBuy set up a one of a kind runway, stage and booth experience where me and my fellow blogger friends (See pic above!) were able to check out some of the hottest wearable tech products from brands such as Samsung, LG, Noon VR, Merge VR, Osmo and more.. All are, of course, available at Best Buy Canada. During the show! We were treated to a huge fashion platter or just how these fab pieces can be worn throughout the day, during different activities and mixed with such different styles!
For more information about the show and all the latest on wearable technology check out Best Buy Canada in store and online.
Hey guys!! Happy Monday :):):):).. If you follow me on social media (instagram, twitter, snapchat, etc.) you will know that before the weekend I was lucky enough to get my hands on the new Hermes Apple Watch!! I had been using the Apple Watch since it came out but the fashion obsessed freak in me obviously wanted the Hermes edition because well.. HELLO HERMES!!!! lol!! So of course I am familiar with the device as it is still quintessentially the same…BUT.. The little differences? They are great.. I do enjoy the new little features like the ‘HERMES P A R I S’ face and well of course, the key element.. The packaging and the interchangeable straps! I have to say that Apple & Hermes, did not compensate or cut corners on any asset of this collaboration..
The packaging is undoubtedly a real authentic Hermes experience. Even the dust bag the extra straps comes with is spot on to when you purchase real leather goods/straps at your local Hermes boutique. And the quality!?!?! Once I felt the straps there was no second guessing.. I also have to say!! I thought it was quite clever that the second hand doesn’t tick but rather slowly glides clockwise as luxury time pieces do!!! DOWN TO THE DETAILS!! lol… I have to say.. I have seen a lot of designer x tech & vice versa collaborations but I really have to give props to Apple & Hermes for this one.. It is a collaboration that is done to the best possible degree and makes so much sense.. It just works and for that I give it a big ol’ ONE HUNDO P!!! Now that I have unboxed the pieces I am going to be utilizing the device and seeing the wearability and functionality vs the style and design… So stay tuned to my social media & etc for more!!!!!
As you know, I am never one to shy away from having a seriously geeky, geek out session when it comes to my tech goodies! On that note… today we are going to discuss a couple of my favourite things on the new iPhone 6S. My thoughts (but of course!) and assets that give y’all a reason to upgrade from it’s predecessor.. I’ve been using the device for a couple weeks now and as expected, have been having a seamless user experience… Obviously I am familiar with the operating system and interface so that was completely easy to roll with.. On the other end, I’ve always carried a champagne (gold) iPhone.. This time around I thought, why not.. So I went with the Rose Gold.. Yes, it’s basically pink, but I absolutely love it and it’s about the abstract eye..It’s Rose, like the champagne OK! And.. I do, indeed love my fancy self a glass or three lol of ROSE every now and then okay lol! Aside from the general things there are definitely some things that I am quite impressed by and genuinely was intrigued to learn about with the new iPhone 6S.. Normally I just use and go.. Rarely do I look for things to learn or generally want to learn new features about things lol… Yeah.. I am the kind of person that never updates their phone for better description lol!
3D TOUCH // One of the most discussed features has to be the new 3D touch element to the device. Things like the new ‘peek and pop’ feature (which is quite self explanatory but just incase we are missing a marble or two) is probably one of my favourite new features on the device. This feature literally allows you to peek and pop at windows, messages, etc. Basically you get the chance to view something before having to commit to fully opening it and losing the current page you are on. Another reason I love it… Probably the most vein but amazing is on instagram! Do you know how when you are looking for something specific in a picture or just generally a specific picture so you scroll down in single image mode but then.. Oh snap… You accidentally press something and it goes back a page and back to the top of who ever’s profile you are creeping #OMFGTheStruggle LOL!!! Now with ‘peek and pop’ you can scroll in gallery mode and add pressure to individual pics to make pop up preview window.. (I totally made a video tutorial below lol #FanGirling)..
CAMERA & VIDEO QUALITY + LIVE PHOTO //Probably one of the most important aspects of the new iPhone 6s to me (lol #DUH) would probably has to be the camera quality! The new iPhone 6s features a 12 mega pixel iSight camera bringing us up 4 mega pixels from the iPhone 6, which as you know, when you trying to get and edit the shot makes you realize that every little bit of detail and quality count!! There is now a 4K video resolution feature which makes for amazing quality video.. Also, another big jump is the face-time camera going up 3.8 megapixels to a total of 5 megapixels.. (it is 1.2 megapixels on the 6)!! So basically what this means is MORE OUTFIT & SELFIE POSTS lol!! Next… If you are unfamiliar with this feature basically what it is, is a photo that moves.. The device takes a series of photos or a very short video that when played put on play-back moves slowly. This is really cool for trying to do 3d movements!! Overall and obviously y’all know I am so into the device and can’t wait to learn more new things as I continue to use it!
This week, I want to share a cool new device in facial grooming and hair-care that has really grown on me since first using it last week! Enter the Philips BeardTrimmer 9000 – I was sent this cool laser device last week and upon trying it out was quite satisfied with my experience. I’ve never really used a beard trimmer before, I have always kept it super classic with the good ol’bladed shaver when it came to trimming any hair growth on my face but then this little gem came long and switched up the game! This the trimmer has an award winning design that features (definitely my one of the coolest features) laser light guidance that projects a sharp line of light to point out where the hairs will be cut!.. Naturally aside from using this for the face I have used this for my hair lines, from my sides to any little designs I do towards the ends of my hair.. Especially since, I have tried shaving my head myself the last couple of times (that is coming up on the blog soon) this is great for helping me with those little areas towards the back of the head when I need to get it right on the line UGH! lol… O.k. and the best part.. The people over at Philips put a LOL worthy photo of me together for me to see what i would look like with a full on beard lol!! Please continue reading for this LOL moment and some features & tech specs on the device!

Oh my lord! Am I ever excited about sharing some new goodies with you all! If you haven’t put the pieces together (I mean like hello!) Guess what came in the mail earlier this week! The new Gold Macbook, which I have been very excited about reviewing and testing for the blog, as, this quintessentially is the revival of the MacBook! Remember the MacBook!? The All white pod shaped, friendly looking laptop? Yeah, that’s undoubtedly gone now. Now it’s all about sleek, slim and classic design accompanied by things big and small exactly where they should be!! From the screen and keyboard to the resolution and sound quality. The MacBook is a force to be reckoned with. Continue reading for more!
SIZE & WEIGHT wise, the MacBook is perfect for someone as on the go as I am. At just 2 pounds (923 grams), whether it be between meetings or between cities, MacBook seems to fit itself perfectly into a hectic lifestyle. I mean the new MacBook is Apple’s thinnest and lightest notebook ever being that it is 24% thinner than 11-inch MacBook Air and measures 22% less volume than 11-inch MacBook Air. I think it has something to do with the fact that there is only one port in on the whole device. The new USB-C port (see below!)
AS FOR THE KEYBOARD… Being the psychotic speed typer that I am (I just did the 10fastfingers test and got 111 words per minute #KTHANKXBAIIII!!!) – The new MacBook keyboard is literally everything! As I was saying it literally feels like you are typing on a pad of butter. Not only are the keys so much larger (Apple has increased size of the keycaps by 17%) but they are closer to the base of the computer meaning that there is less frequency when transition from key to key and there is 4 times more key stability than our current notebook keyboard. Your fingers feel nothing but a smooth movement. Apple has shared that they have integrated a newly designed butterfly key mechanism -which after some googling has showed me that the key is placed down as oppose to across (remember when your keys would fall off and you would have to like slide them back into place!?)- at least i think that’s it!! ALSO I CAN’T FORGET TO MENTION THE AUDIO… One of my favourite parts!? This bad boy is literally louder or maybe as loud as my bluetooth speakers!! The audio from streaming or from MP3’s is so powerful and still maintains the sounds integrity which I appreciate a lot… I always appreciate a device that can get the party started!!!
AND THEN THERES THE SCREEN/DISPLAY!… Guys, I am like such a nerd, you are learning my typing speeds, my obsession with keyboards, my love and weirdly exact knowledge for weight and dimension of devices.. LORD HAVE MERCY haha!! Ok no seriously, I was so excited to see the new display of the MacBook because Apple has decided to maximize the space available for viewing pleasure meaning there is no more border.. What you now have is an edge to edge glass design giving even more space for display! When I am producing documents or images the new high pixel density (226ppi) of a retina display has increased the sharpness of the details when I am either in PSE (Photoshop Elements or creating proposals with PDF’s! Another plus for me is when I read that the display is 30% more power efficient than our other retina notebooks = more battery life = more geeking out!! YAY!! haha
Other details like the stronger battery life are great to. Apple has incorporated terraced counted cells in the notebook as oppose to a traditional rectangular battery meaning that battery cells line the inside of the MacBook in various spaces allowing 25% more battery capacity than traditional! Basically this means you can wirelessly surf the web for approx. 9 hours or watch 10 hours of movies on iTunes back-to-back.. Easily a flight and then some without having to get your charger! Not a bad gig huh!? Overall, I think the MacBook is a great device and definitely a great upgrade from the MacBook air!
Vinyl is making a comeback, but for all intents and purposes the reign of cassette tapes is long since over, right? Perhaps not, if Sony has anything to say about it. At today’s International Magnetics Conference (Intermag) in Europe, the company is presenting a method of data storage utilizing magnetic tape which is capable of holding a whopping 148GB per inch.
I have fond memories of walking to my local Wherehouse, stocking up on Maxell XLII-S blank cassette tapes (back me up 80′s kids, these were vastly superior to Memorex), and settling in for a weekend of crafting the most glorious mixtapes imaginable. Sony’s new breakthrough in storage capacity would mean one insanely comprehensive mixtape.
Back in 2012, a collaboration between FujiFilm and IBM IBM -1.84% resulted in prototype cassettes which could hold 35TB of data, and at the time that was considered a monumental accomplishment. Sony’s new method means you could cram 185TB onto a single cassette tape. The average Blu-Ray disc holds 50GB and a standard PC hard drive 1TB. To illustrate just how dramatic this is, here’s a weeks-old tutorial at ExtremeTech detailing how to build your own 180TB hard drive storage array for a measly $9305. To accomplish this, Sony has utilized and enhanced a technology known as “sputter deposition,” which involves drastically shrinking the magnetic particles on the tape.
Obviously the creators of the Walkman aren’t envisioning their new storage technology being used in the consumer space, but Sony says this is way more than an experiment. Magnetic tape is still a viable option for mass data storage and backup, and Sony wants to commercialize their product and bring it to market in the near future.
