A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the Spring/Summer 2017 launch party for Cutler & Gross’ new collection for the season. It was a fun night filled with some of my favourite people good drinks some yummy bites and of course some super fierce eyewear. That evening I had the pleasure of connecting with the amazing Cutler & Gross team all the way in from the U.K. and (of course) also trying on some new amazing shades!!! I fell in love with too many things to mention but then there was one pair that I could not get my hands off of (can you guess which ones LOL) – One thing I love most about Cutler & Gross sunglasses is the fact that they are all products that are handmade so you know that the workmanship, quality and I would say, most importantly durability of these frames are built to last!!! I’ve had a pair for about three years now and they have really been surviving the test of time, which with my hectic, busy lifestyle is such a plus!!!!!! Anyways enjoy some of my favorite photos from the night and don’t forget to check them out online or at their boutique here in Toronto at 758 Queen St. West!!!
Fashion Week has been quite interesting for me.. The main reason is because this week I have totally gone against the grain of what I normally wear and have been wearing completely ‘different’ things.. Almost ‘Trying To Blend IN’ if you will… I wore things I don’t normally wear like tops that cover up my chest, light coloured this and that, like this absolutely cozy and beautiful sweater from COS’ Spring/Summer 2016 collection… Needless to say I am quite impressed by how comfortable I was trying these new styles. However I think what makes me me, is that I DO NOT blend in… I am not like the other bloggers in my city that all have the same style of content or dress for everyday.. I am not every day.. Even in these simple pieces, realistically a sweater and jeans, as Beyonce would say “I SLAY” – Yes you might think I am crazy for saying this but I genuinely think it’s important to uplift yourself.. Seriously! And to not be afraid to be proud of your self, your unique-ness and most of all I think people should give themselves a moment here and there to brag about themselves once in a while and share not only why they are thankful but why they feel deep down inside they are their best, or, simply, THE best ;)… I always say, I wish I had the confidence I do now in high school!! GURRRRLLLL!!
With the holidays around the corner I am so excited for my annual family vacation to Miami and can’t wait to just get to the airport and fly… That being said, while I was packing for my trip (earlier today actually, I pack in spurts!) I thought to myself, a random thought if I may add, if I had designer luggage what would it be? Then it hit me, HELLO CHANEL AIRLINES! The Spring/Summer 2016 fashion show that took place in Paris transformed the Grand Palais into an airport themed runway fit with check in gates, bag luggage and of course signature Chanel travel bags and accessories.. I loved it, this art de vivre (art of living) was so perfect, chic and definitely, maybe, just maybe a #MustHave for travel!
Recently announced; Gigi Hadid, has just been announced as the new global ambassador of Tommy Hilfiger! As part of her exclusive ambassadorship, Hadid has partnered with Tommy Hilfiger to launch her first capsule collection, created in collaboration with the iconic American designer. Launching in Fall 2016, the capsule will feature women’s sportswear, footwear and accessories, including watches and sunglasses, as well as a new fragrance, which celebrate Hadid’s unique take on modern style, fused with Hilfiger’s signature “classic American cool” heritage.
CHANEL never ceases to amaze us. Whether it’s the ambiance before/during the show, the set design, the whole spectacle that goes into the production. There is just always something.. AND THEN, comes the clothes, the habitual icing on the ever changing and flavourful cake… For this season’s Metiers d’Art collection Karl Lagerfeld produced the ‘Paris in Rome’ themed show, inspired by French actresses and Italian cinema, Karl Lagerfeld chose a legendary place where all imaginary worlds and creative desires come together: the Cinecittà Studios in Rome.
This season I caught an essence of a very refined gothic chicness with this collection.. Maybe it was the heavy leather coats, the (was that-) patent or vinyl coated pencil skirts, the harness like waist belts and chokers with all the lace.. Or maybe it was just how badass Bella Hadid looked strutting down the runway? Whatever it was, I am sure you can agree that there was some extent of fetishistic inspirations that rocked that runway. One of my favourite moments definitely had to be the vintage movie projector. I think that is absolutely chic! Continue reading to see more of my favourite looks from the collection.
Check this out!! Some of my highlights from the Balmain x H&M runway show live in New York City from my seat! I have been saying it and I will unshamefully say it again! This was literally BY FAR, BEyoND one of the most epic fashion shows I’ve ever attended! From the models, the music.. WHICH by the way I haven’t stopped listening to since I purchased, the clothes & the energy!!!!! It was just 100’s on 100’s on 100’s! Check out the video!!!
This may be one of my favourite shows from New York Fashion Week this season, and if anything, until further notice, my favourite fashion show of the season (We still have to finish London, Milan & Paris fashion weeks of course… but yeah)… I love that Riccardo uprooted Givenchy from it’s normal realm of Paris Fashion Week and brought the show to AMERICA!!.. To New York Fashion Week, to who I feel are the people who really popularized his collections, the American celebrity!!.. It’s interesting because if you really look into the collection you notice all the references from his past collections, from his haute couture collections and ready to wear collections from previous seasons.. Making this.. Almost something more of an homage to his lifespan of work with Givenchy.. Needless to say.. Or, more if anything, to make a long story short…. Show-stopping, ground breaking, iconic and undeniably beautiful…. That is Riccardo Tisci’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection for Givenchy.
Versus Versace started this seasons London Fashion Week with a bang! Showcasing their Spring/Summer 2016 collection by the favoured creative director, Anthony Vacarello.. The collection theme was ‘decorated deconstruction. Tough fluidity. The attitude of contrasts’ featuring a strong, urban and playful mood.. A series of hand-drawn prints featuring palms and pineapple evokes the spirit of LA, dotted with iconic Versus Versace elements. Sportiness and energy run through the collection. And then, there is the always grungy chic feeling of the leather pieces with the hardcore hardware featuring the iconic VERSUS logo and lion icon. “Antony has captured the true spirit of Versus Versace. I love how he is pushing the brand that I love forward for a new generation.” Donatella Versace – “Versus Versace is about being bold and playful. Sporty functionality is fun to wear all season long, while deconstruction creates contrast and shows the skin beneath.” Anthony Vaccarello…

According to a report published, Kering, Balenciaga’s parent company, has decided not to renew Wang’s contract, resulting in his Spring 2016 show being his last. Kering has not officially confirmed Wang’s departure, it is said that the search for his replacement has already begun. Citing Alessandro Michele’s critical and financial successes at Kering-owned Gucci, a source reports that the corporation is open to hiring an unknown designer at Balenciaga.
